Formerly Starved Dog Needs A New Home. She's A Sweetheart! in Yonkers, New York

Emma is a love bug, so full of affection, always smiling & so enthusiastic about anything...whether it's going for a walk, playing in the yard, or just simply hanging out with her human friends. When she was found she was very emaciated and always starving... months later, after lots of TLC, she is a healthy, happy sweetheart. She is a fun loving girl who has a lot of energy, so she will need an owner who'll give her lots of exercise. She LOVES treats & is motivated to learn/listen because she knows she'll get that treat at the end. I have to say there are times where she will do the trick or whatever it is I ask, then when I give her the treat & praise her she will not take the treat....she will just walk away from me - as if she only wanted to show me that she is smart & can do anything I ask of her :) She seems to enjoy taking instruction & sometimes waits for it, always looking up at me for more commands. She is very eager to please! Emma needs to be the only dog in the home, at least for now, because as a stray on the streets she had to fend for herself when she was among other dogs, though I wouldn't be surprised if she could be dog friendly someday, when she is sure there is a plentiful supply of food, and she doesn't have to worry about starving again.
Emma is about 35-40 lbs and 2 yrs old, spayed and up to date on vaccinations (free transport to your home will be provided)
